At a glance

Matrimonials is a dignified, parishioners-only space where Catholics seeking a faithful spouse can find one another — without putting their name or contact out in public. Every listing is anonymous; two people connect only through a private, double-blind introduction that both must agree to.

Parishioners only, anonymous to one another. You must sign in with your parish account to view, post, or respond — so everyone is a real, known member of the parish, even though listings show no names. The board is never visible to the public web and is never indexed by search engines.
The parish is a trusted host, not a matchmaker. The parish offers this space as a courtesy. It does not vet, endorse, or vouch for anyone, runs no background checks, and is not a party to any introduction. You are responsible for your own decisions and safety — use good judgment, protect your information, and meet safely. You accept these terms when you post or respond.

How a connection happens

1 · A listing

Anonymous — e.g. "Catholic woman, 30s, prays daily, speaks English & Spanish." No name. No contact.

2 · Express interest

A member sends a short, private note. The poster is notified without learning who it is. Still anonymous.

3 · Connect or pass

The poster reads the note and chooses. Nothing is shared if they pass. Their choice alone.

4 · Contact shared

Only when they both agree are name & contact revealed — to each other, never publicly. Mutual consent.

Part A · For parishioners

Everything here requires you to be signed in with your parish account. That's what keeps the board members-only — and keeps you anonymous to everyone else.

Use case 1 · Post your listing

Who: A signed-in parishioner.   Goal: Share an anonymous profile of yourself.

  1. Open Matrimonials (it also lives under Resources) and go to the Post a listing tab.
  2. Choose whether you're a Catholic man or woman, optionally an age range and languages, and write a short about you & what you're seeking. Do not include your name or contact — those stay private until you connect.
  3. Read the safety terms, tick the box to accept, and tap Post my listing.

Result: Your anonymous listing appears for fellow parishioners. It quietly retires on its own after 60 days so the board never goes stale — you can re-post any time.

Use case 2 · Browse & express interest

Who: A signed-in parishioner.   Goal: Reach out to someone, privately.

  1. On the Browse tab, read the anonymous listings.
  2. On one you'd like to meet, tap I'm interested, add a short note introducing yourself (no contact details here), and send it.
  3. The other person is notified that "someone is interested" — they don't see who until they choose to connect.

Result: Your interest reaches them privately. You'll see it marked "awaiting their reply" on your Inbox tab.

Use case 3 · Connect or pass on an interest

Who: A poster who received interest.   Goal: Decide whether to share contact.

  1. Open your Inbox tab — incoming interest appears under "Interest in your listings," with the note they wrote.
  2. Tap Connect to agree, or Pass to decline. If you pass, nothing is shared and they simply see it didn't move forward.
  3. If you connect, you're both emailed and each other's name & contact appear in your Inbox — only now, and only to the two of you.

Result: A safe, mutual introduction. From here you take the conversation forward yourselves, off the platform.

Use case 4 · Manage your listing & outreach

Who: A signed-in parishioner.   Goal: Keep things current.

  1. On My listings, pause a listing to hide it for a while, mark it fulfilled when you've met someone, or delete it entirely.
  2. On your Inbox → Your outreach, you can withdraw any interest you sent — before or after connecting.
  3. See something inappropriate? Tap Report on any listing; enough reports hide it automatically for staff to review.

Result: You stay in full control of your listing, your outreach, and what you've shared — at every step.

Part B · For parish staff

The board runs itself — parishioners post directly and clean listings appear right away. Staff simply keep it appropriate from one screen: Admin → Community Boards.

Use case 5 · Moderate the board

Who: Parish staff (welcome/hospitality access).   Goal: Keep listings appropriate and safe.

  1. Open Admin → Community Boards. Anything the spam filter flagged or the community reported waits here for review; clean listings publish on their own.
  2. Review a listing and tap Approve to publish it, Hide to pull a live one back, or Delete to remove it.
  3. For accountability, the poster's identity (and the device details behind a post) are visible to staff here — even though parishioners stay anonymous to one another.

Result: An open, immediate board for parishioners, with a quiet safety net — and a full audit trail of every staff action.

Private by design. Staff never see the private notes two parishioners exchange in the introduction relay unless a listing is reported. The board is members-only and never appears on the public website or in search results.

Quick reference

Who can see the Matrimonials board?Only signed-in parishioners. It's never public and never indexed by search engines.
Is my name or contact shown?No. Listings are anonymous. Your contact is shared only with one person, and only after you both agree to connect.
How do two people connect?You express interest privately → the poster is notified (without seeing who) → they Connect or Pass → contact is revealed to both only if they connect.
Can I change my mind?Yes. Pause, fulfill, or delete your listing any time, and withdraw any interest you sent — even after connecting.
Does the parish vet or introduce people?No. The parish hosts the space as a courtesy and is not a party to any introduction. You're responsible for your own safety and decisions.
How long does a listing last?It retires automatically after 60 days so the board stays current. Re-post any time.
